Gastroenterology Department is managed by two leading Gastroenterologists of the city namely Dr. A K Khurana and Dr. R L Bhatt. The following diagnostic & therapeutic procedures are available at RGCI & RC

  • Upper GI Endoscopy and biopsy – for oesophagus or stomach lesions
  • Lower GI Endoscopy and biopsy – for lesions of large intestine
  • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
  • Oesophageal Stent - Dilatation for impassable malignant strictures of oesophagus
  • Colonic Stents
  • ERCP stents for malignant jaundice
  • PTBD (Percutaneous Transheptic Biliary Drainage) under guidance
  • PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) for purpose of feeding
  • Duodenal stents in cases of unresectable pancreatic tumors with gastric outlets obstruction
  • Sclerotherapy for variceal bleed
  • TACE ( Trans Arterial  Chemoembolization)
Many of the procedures are done under monitoring and supervision of anaesthetist. Endoscopic procedure photographs are also given to patients at the completion of procedure.

Some of the procedures like pigtail drainage of any abdominal collection or liver abscess are also performed under radiological control.
