About

RGCI Comprehensive Onco Anesthesia Training (COAT) Program 2023

COAT is ‘To cover someone or something with a layer of something, often to protect or improve finishing.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Cancer has emerged as a formidable second largest killer in the world. Cancer surgeries are on the rise and every anesthesiologist must be armed with skills to effectively manage cancer patients. Onco-Anesthesia is often not appropriately covered in the standard anesthesia teaching curricula.  Moreover, there have been advances in onco surgery (like HIPEC, PIPAC) and onco anesthesia (like ERAS, pre habilitation) which must be known to anesthetists involved in care of cancer patients. Therefore, large majority of anesthetists involved in cancer care are not well informed about newer developments and anesthetic needs in cancer surgery. Upgradation of knowledge and skills in onco anesthesia is a felt need of all anesthetists / medical fraternity

Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi is a premier tertiary care oncology setup in a unique position to host an update providing an overview of commonly conducted and specialised onco anesthesia procedures.

It’s our pleasure to invite you for the First Comprehensive Onco Anesthesia Training Program (RGCI ‘COAT’ program) being organized by the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi. This ‘COAT’ will ‘cover’ your existing knowledge of anesthesia with additional ‘layer’ of knowledge in onco anesthesia and thereby improve clinical acumen.

The theme of the current Onco anesthesia Update is “Onco Anesthesia: An overview”

RGCI- COAT 2023 will be an academic feast with interesting and intriguing sessions by distinguished experts. It will focus on clinical topics with practical implications for students, resident’s fellows and consultants interested in onco anesthesia. The scientific program shall be a mix of plenary sessions and panel discussions as a consensus building exercise in challenging clinical scenarios with practice changing experiences. It shall ‘coat ‘ you with the recent advances in the field.

RGCI COAT program 2023 is an opportunity of learning Onco-Anesthesia AT a leading Oncology Centre BY leading Onco-Anesthetists FOR all those involved in cancer care and keen in Onco- Anesthesia

We look forward to your gracious presence in making this update a grand success on 30th April 2023.

Yours sincerely,
Organizing team
RGCI- COAT program 2023
