Clinical Biochemistry

The Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory offers a wide range of biochemical investigation of bodily fluids such as blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid to all Medical, Surgical, and Clinical Research patients for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. The section provides both routine testing and specialized testing in areas like Tumor markers, Immunology, Hormones, Vitamins and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring. The biochemical testing is conducted by a team of highly skilled technical laboratory personnel who work under the supervision of an experienced Medical Biochemist. The team is responsible for the appropriate use of investigations and interpretation of results. It aims to provide excellent, cost-effective, evidence-based patient care in a clinically relevant turnaround time. The biochemistry section has the most updated state-of-the-art equipment with complete backups; offer 24 x 7 round-the-clock services, with very short turnaround time. A fully automated system, from bar coding to bidirectional interfacing of results, aids the process by reducing transcription errors. Our comprehensive Quality Assurance Program, both internal and external, is designed in a manner to monitor each step of the testing process. The unique BioRad Unity Quality software, in conjunction with the BioRad EQAS programme, further aids in the monitoring of the QC process. Our commitment to continuous quality improvement, combined with an extensive training, enables us to provide the best service possible in the tertiary care hospital settings.
