Overview
Casualty or Emergency is an integral part of the hospital for the management of critically ill cancer patients, requiring immediate medical attention.At RGCIRC, Emergency Dept. has easy and swift access to super specialist oncology (medical, surgical, radiation and pediatric)services. Emergency surgical procedures, radiological interventions & lab facilities are provided through casualty. Ambulance are well equipped and manned by trained personnels.
Our Emergency dept is well connected to the main road & there is easy access. The unit handles more than 20000 patients annually. The dept is well equipped with all the necessary, latest and sophisticated equipments. The patient care involves comprehensive initial assessment, clinical decision making, referral and management according to well laid down standards & protocols.
A Dedicated team of Competent and experienced Senior Medical officers are present in the dept round the clock. The nursing staff in emergency dept is trained to address psychological and emotional needs of the patient, apart from routine medical care. We also offer supportive and counseling services to our patients and their families.
Who Should Attend Casualty Department?
- Any surgical emergency like bleeding from any source, Respiratory distress, Intestinal obstruction, Urinary Retention, Focal neurological deficits etc.
- Any Medical emergency Fever after chemotherapy, febrile neutropenia, vomiting, diarrhea, electrolyte disturbances, altered sensorium, convulsions, breathing difficulty, Intolerable bouts of cough etc.
- Non oncological emergencies –Roadside accidents, Trauma at workplace, Medical emergency. These patients are given First-Aid and then transferred to other multispecialty hospital.
- Other Issues with cancer patients-New patients reporting at odd time, Dressings,Injections to OPD patients,Port or Line care and other supportive measures.Patient waiting to be transferred to ICU or HDU.
