After Completion of Therapy (ACT) Clinic

“Imagine what we can build together, if we use faith, hope and love as our building material”

Advances in cancer treatment mean that today more than 80 percent of children diagnosed with cancer are alive at least five years after diagnosis. Many ultimately will be considered cured. As a consequence, interest is growing in the long-term health of these survivors. Health problems that develop years later as a result of a cancer treatment are known as late effects.

After Completion of Therapy (ACT) Clinic to monitor growth and development, cardio pulmonary status, immunization, education, and screening for endocrinal dysfunction based on primary disease and treatment exposure.

Multi-specialty care in coordination with Oncologist, Endocrinologist, Psychologist and other specialists as required. Reinforcing healthy life style measures include watching their weight, avoidance of smoking, healthy diet, regular exercise, safe sex and annual check-up by the doctor.

At our ACT clinic at RGCIRC, we give all children a treatment summary card with disease and treatment summary of the patient as well as follow-up guidelines.
