NURSICON2019 – “Excellence in Oncology Nursing” Enriching Life : A Comprehensive Approach

With great pride and honor, the Department of Nursing at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCI&RC) Delhi, announces a two day National Nursing Conference to be held on 10th and 11th January 2019 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Rohini, Delhi – 85.

The Theme of the program is: “Excellence in Oncology Nursing”.. Enriching Life: A Comprehensive Approach”

In the past, the major cancer treatment was surgery, and the role of the nurse was limited to inpatient care of the surgical patient. As chemotherapy and radiation therapy evolved as treatment modalities, nurses looked for opportunities to contribute to cancer care.

Last two decades have seen a revolution in the evolution of newer techniques in the area of cancer diagnosis, treatment and oncology nursing. Cancer survival rates have improved and nursing has experienced a shift that acknowledged the importance of professionalism in nursing. Over the years the practice of oncology nursing has attained the role of direct caregiver, educator, consultant, administrator, and researcher. Oncology nursing extends to all healthcare delivery settings from prevention, screening, treatment to palliation.

In this background, Department of Nursing of RGCI & RC has planned the Academic Feast for Nursing Fraternity. We cordially invite you to participate in this event and make the most use of the vast knowledge and experience of the learned faculty. This is an opportunity for all nursing colleagues as well as nursing trainees to update themselves.

 

The criteria for Poster presentation

 

  • Size: Standard size (approx. “22 x 26”)
  • Individual entry only
  • Lettering and design of the poster should be bold and big enough to be seen from a distance and should not be electronic or printed poster.
  • Clarity: For bringing clarity of the poster, restrict yourself to one idea relevant to any one of the topic.
  • Topics: -Hand Hygiene, Bio Medical waste management.

 

The criteria for Case study presentation

 

  • Abstracts for case study presentation are to be submitted via email latest by 15th December 2018.
  • All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee and the accepted abstracts will be intimated to the author by 31st December 2018.
  • Top 4 abstracts will be selected for the 10 min each oral presentation in the conference on 11th January 2019, of which best 2 papers will get attractive awards.
  • Topic : Oncology Emergencies
