Sunita Devi, a 56-year-old woman, spent nearly six months suffering in silence as she struggled with post-menopausal bleeding. Each time she took medication, the bleeding would stop for a short while, giving her momentary relief. But the symptoms kept returning, each time more severe, accompanied by growing weakness and worry. When the bleeding became unbearable, her family rushed her to Patna Savera Hospital. There, after a series of tests and a biopsy, the truth emerged: Sunita was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. The diagnosis left the entire family shaken.
Determined to secure the best treatment for her, the family traveled to the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC) in Delhi. After evaluating her condition, the doctors recommended urgent surgery followed by radiation therapy. Although the advice brought hope, the estimated cost of ₹5 lakhs placed the family under immense financial strain. They wanted nothing more than to save Sunita’s life, but the burden seemed too heavy to bear.
In this difficult moment, help arrived from BHARAT PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED (BPCL). Through the hospital’s Patient Welfare Department, Sunita’s case was taken up, and BPCL sanctioned a generous grant of ₹3 lakhs. This support eased a major portion of the financial burden and ensured that Sunita could undergo the life-saving surgery without any delay.
Her operation at RGCIRC was successful, and she is now continuing with radiation therapy. With each passing day, her condition is improving, and her strength is gradually returning. Sunita and her family remain deeply grateful to the dedicated doctors and medical team at RGCIRC for their expert and compassionate care, and to BPCL for their timely and generous support. Their help gave Sunita not only treatment but also hope, dignity, and a renewed chance at life.
As a society, RGCIRC is looking forward to get support from generous people
