The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal successfully organized a guest lecture on Physiology of the Lung and the Impact of Surgery & Radiation in the Treatment of Lung Cancer on Saturday, 5th September 2026 at Kautilya Bhawan, AIIMS Bhopal.
The academic programme was jointly organized by the Departments of Physiology, Radiation Oncology and Surgical Oncology, with the objective of fostering interdisciplinary learning and enhancing understanding of the role of pulmonary physiology, thoracic surgery and radiation oncology in the comprehensive management of lung cancer.
The distinguished guest speaker, Dr. L. M. Darlong, Head – Thoracic Oncosurgery delivered an insightful lecture on the physiological aspects of the lung and the impact of surgical and radiation-based interventions in lung cancer treatment. Drawing upon his extensive experience in thoracic oncology and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Darlong highlighted important clinical considerations in the management of thoracic malignancies.
