About

Dr. Shagun is a motivated and dedicated anaesthesiologist with 22 years of experience in the field of anaesthesia. Her interest in oncoanaesthesia drove her to do her DNB from RGCIRC, Delhi. She has served as a specialist at ESIC Rohini, then as an attending consultant followed by consultant at RGCIRC. She is certified in TEE (Trans esophageal echocardiography) and utilizes it for managing cardiac patients undergoing noncardiac oncosurgery. She is NIDA-certified in Good Clinical Practice. She is ready to walk that extra mile with post-operative and terminally ill cancer patients to alleviate their pain and suffering.

She has authored 130 publications in national and international peer-reviewed indexed journals/books including mainstream textbooks for anaesthesia clinicians and students (Yearbook of Anesthesia, Textbook of Oncoanaesthesia and Critical Care, A Complete Guide to Onco-Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Cancer Pain, Problem Based Learning Discussions in Onco-Anesthesia and Onco-Critical Care, Comprehensive Clinical Anesthesia etc) She has delivered over 130 faculty lectures, participated in panel discussions, and chaired/moderated sessions at various National and International Conferences/CMEs/Workshops/ webinars. She is a sitting member of the US-based International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) International subcommittee and is the first Indian to deliver a lecture at IARS (oncoanasthesia session, Seattle).  She is a Governing Council member of the Society of Oncoanaesthesia. She is an editorial board member/reviewer with prestigious journals like the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia and Journal of Oncoanesthesia and Perioperative Medicine
