Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC), a premier cancer hospital in Delhi, performed 200 stem cell transplants last year, bringing its total to approximately 2,000 since launching the program in 2007. Specializing in aggressive blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, RGCIRC has excelled in allogenic and haploidentical transplants, offering renewed hope to patients unresponsive to chemotherapy. According to Dr. Dinesh Bhurani, Director of Hemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant, RGCIRC, the institute’s success rates with half-match transplants now rival those seen in the West, marking a significant advancement in advanced cancer care.
