Dainik Jagran: 64-year-old man walks again after 3-kg tumour removed from leg at Delhi hospital

Published : 15 October, 2024

Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC) recently restored the mobility of a 64-year-old man bedridden for over six months due to Stage-2 liposarcoma. A complex seven-hour surgery, led by Dr. Himanshu Rohela and Dr. Rajan Arora, successfully removed a 3 kg tumor from his leg, preventing amputation. The tumor’s challenging location made the procedure critical. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, the patient began walking just one day after surgery and has since been declared cancer-free. This case highlights RGCIRC’s dedication to advanced cancer treatments and innovative surgical techniques, greatly improving patients’ quality of life.
