Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC), in collaboration with the Association of Physicians of India (API), Rohtak, organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on November 16 to raise awareness about chronic leukemias, including chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Dr. Narendra Agrawal from RGCIRC highlighted that these slow-growing blood cancers often go undetected until routine tests reveal abnormalities, with symptoms like fatigue or splenomegaly. The program emphasized the significance of early detection and targeted therapies, such as Imatinib and Dasatinib, which have transformed CML into a manageable condition.
