Dr. Vineet Talwar from RGCIRC highlighted that climate change is increasingly impacting global health, with alarming consequences. A study in Nature Communications links 4.3% of neonatal deaths in low- and middle-income countries to non-optimal temperatures. The International Labour Organization warns that 2.4 billion workers face health risks such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases from excessive heat. Dr. Talwar noted that climate change affects food, water, air quality, and weather, posing significant health risks and exacerbating conditions like cancer.
