A team of doctors at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) in Rohini successfully conducted the first-ever tele-surgery using India’s first indigenous surgical robot, Mantra. Dr. S K Rawal led the operation on a 52-year-old patient from Delhi who was suffering from urinary bladder cancer. Dr. S K Rawal stated that the Made-in-India robot, Mantra, has the potential to revolutionize healthcare across smaller cities and remote locations, successfully providing high-quality care.
