The Pioneer – Critical care vital for outcome of cancer care

Cancer patients are a special group of patients who need specialised ICU care. The quality of ICU care or critical care can make a big difference in determining the outcome of cancer treatment or life expectancy of patients, said Dr Parveen Kaur, Consultant and Head MICU, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute (RGCI) and president of newly founded Onco Critical Care Society (OCCS). With a view to promote education and research in the field of onco critical care as a specialty, the first annual conference on Onco Critical Care was organised by Onco Critical Care Society in collaboration with RGCI on August 4.
