In this article, Dr. Vandana Jain, Senior Consultant & Head of Department–Gynaecologic Oncology at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC), highlights that early diagnosis is key to improving survival rates in cervical cancer. Often asymptomatic in early stages, the disease presents minor symptoms like abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, and unusual discharge. Regular screening with Pap smears or HPV tests and timely vaccination against high-risk HPV strains can significantly reduce cervical cancer cases and improve outcomes for women.
