SURGICAL ICU

Overview

Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at RGCIRC is at 3rd floor B-Block (SICU-1, a 25 bedded unit that includes 5 isolation beds) and 7th floor D-Block (SICU-2, a 15 bedded unit that includes 2 isolation beds). It is well equipped and managed by a team of well trained and experienced doctors and nursing staff. At SICU, we manage highly critical patients including immunocompromised patients. SICU is well equipped with modern ventilators, non invasive ventilation systems, multi-modular monitors, automated beds, dedicated ultrasound system, bronchoscope, defibrillator, dialysis machine, portable X-ray, CRRT and ABG machine to immediately evaluate sick patients; volume, syringe infusion & feeding pumps for precision delivery and dedicated beds for hemodialysis.

The patients care in SICU is based on our core values of quality, ethics, compassion and respect for all with patient-centric approach. SICU aims to give each patient a totally dedicated and compassionate care. A devoted and motivated team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and technicians provide round-the-clock care. We look after the physical, psychological and emotional needs of the patients.

At SICU, we provide care for all surgical patients requiring critical and high dependency care. Along with this, SICU also provides care for critical patients of hematological malignancies including post bone marrow transplant, pediatric oncology and medical oncology. The treatment is protocol driven and based on current medical evidence.
