About

Dr. Rajiv Chawla has over 35 years of experience in various capacities in leading institutions. His experience in Anesthesiology spans over various facets of the specialty: patient care, teaching and research. After his medical education (MBBS & MD) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Dr. Rajiv Chawla joined as teaching faculty in Central Health Scheme, Government of India and worked on various faculty posts in G T B Hospital and G B Pant Hospital, New Delhi.

He was elevated to the post of Medical Director, G B Pant Hospital, New Delhi the leading tertiary care centre of NCT of Delhi.

Dr. Chawla has keen interest in onco anaesthesia and neuroanaesthesia. In G B Pant hospital, he was instrumental in setting up the state of art modular operation theatres and neurosurgery ICU.

He has been the recipient of the Commonwealth Academic Fellowship, UK. During his fellowship he worked at National Hospital of Neurology Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London with specialized training in anaesthesia for brain tumours & epilepsy surgery.

Dr. Chawla has been the President of Indian Society of Neuroanesthesiology & Critical Care (ISNACC). He delivered the Prof G R Gode Oration.
