PATIENT NAME: MR. PARTH SONI
AGE AT DIAGNOSIS: 7 MONTHS
DIAGNOSIS: SIALOBLASTOMA
TREATING DOCTOR: DR. SHALINI MISHRA
Parth Soni, a 7-month-old baby from Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, developed a swelling on the right side of his lower jaw that had been growing for over two months. Though he showed no major symptoms and was feeding well, his parents sought medical help.
Initial investigations in Gorakhpur, followed by FNAC and biopsy at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), confirmed a rare salivary gland cancer — Sialoblastoma. As the tumor was increasing in size and could soon affect feeding, doctors advised urgent surgery and referred Parth to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) for specialized care.
At RGCIRC, doctors planned a wide local excision of the tumor. However, the cost of treatment was a major concern for the family. Upon approaching the Patient Welfare Department, they received much-needed support. Thanks to a generous grant of ₹3,00,000 from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Parth’s treatment continued without delay.
Parth is now recovering well. His family is immensely grateful to Indian Oil Corporation Limited for their timely help, which gave their son a renewed chance at life.
