I, Sonia Chopra (33 years) resident from Faridabad, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer by Sarvodaya Hospital (Faridabad). With the intent of getting best and efficient cancer treatment reached to “RAJIV GANDHI CANCER INSTITUTE ROHINI” and was treated by Dr. Rajiv Kumar & Garima, where I requested for ‘Masectomy’ (Removal of the whole breast), however, Dr. Rajiv said there is no need for ‘Masectomy’ and operated me for ‘Lumpectomy’ (only a portion of the breast is removed) on 15th November 2018. The doctor didn’t even try to meet the attendant before or after the surgery. The RAJIV GANDHI CANCER INSTITUTE billed me around INR 2 Lakhs for the surgery and quoted me expense of additional INR 10 Lakhs for further treatment (which includes Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy and 17 injections) to be done in 1 year.

Since I could not afford those expenses, we went to “AIIMS” New Delhi for further treatment, where to our shock, got to know that I still have cancer lump. We again went to Dr. Rajiv (RGCI) and he made us to wait for 4 hours for a meeting and suggested for 2nd surgery. But this time I opted for the surgery with AIIMS and not RGCI since we felt cheated, harassed and tortured (physically, mentally and financially) by the so-called RGCI hospital.

I would urge all the cancer patients to be very careful, cautious before you even consider “RAJIV GANDHI CANCER INSTITUTE” for cancer treatment.
